The first real horror movie I ever saw was the classic Night of the Living Dead (1968), but I really became a horror fanatic when I was seven years old and saw Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979). The chest-burster scene terrified me, yet I couldn’t look away! I loved the surprise and chaos, but most of all, the special effects captured my imagination.
The Making of Alien came out soon afterward, with all the behind-the-scenes footage that showed how they made all those great effects. I was hooked on horror, and especially the ones with lots of bright gore.
Slasher flicks are the best! I used to ride my bike down to the video store every week with my $3 allowance and rent whichever movie had the bloodiest cover. Then I’d go straight home to my room, turn off all the lights, and watch my movie in the dark.
The only thing I love as much as horror movies is Halloween! The decorations, the costumes, the scares! If it were up to me, every day would be Halloween.
Enjoy the store, and thanks for stopping by!
