Sleepaway camp
What superficially appears to be an ordinary '80s horror flick is
actually, upon deeper inspection, something much more bizarre.
Hints of incest, transsexuality, and homoeroticism lie beneath the
surface in this story of a summer camp where employees and campers
start dropping like flies. History has lumped this into the
"HALLOWEEN/FRIDAY THE 13TH rip-off" category, which is
an oversight.

Sleepaway Camp 2 - Unhappy
Campers
Angela's back in this sequel to the 1983 cult favorite. It's five
years later and the grisly murders that terrorized Camp Arawak
have become the favorite ghost story around Camp Rolling Hills.
Unfortunately for these campers, Angela (Pamela Springsteen,
sister of Bruce), the woman behind those murders, is now a
counselor at Camp Rolling Hills who is eager to reprimand any of
the naughty young campers who breaks her rules. Full of gratuitous
nudity, bad haircuts, and worse dialog, SLEEPAWAY CAMP 2 is an
entertaining sequel, though it is much different than the creepy
original.

Sleepaway Camp 3 - Teenage
Wasteland
Angela returns once again in this third installment of the popular
SLEEPAWAY CAMP series. Here, Angela joins Camp New Horizon, an
organization that brings rich and poor teenagers together for a
weekend of sharing, after she kills a look alike and takes her
place. It isn't long before the other campers begin ridiculing
Angela and history begins to repeat itself. Just as entertaining
as the second film in the series, TEENAGE WASTELAND follows the
lead of its predecessor and places the emphasis on campy fun,
gore, and gratuitous nudity rather than the creepy atmosphere of
the original.

Sleepaway Camp Survival Kit
This boxed set contains the SLEEPAWAY CAMP trilogy, a series that
began with a movie that has unfairly been lumped in with 1980s
slasher movies like FRIDAY THE 13TH and others of its ilk.
However, SLEEPAWAY CAMP is truly the work of a twisted mind and
largely devoid of the two staples of the genre, gratuitous nudity
and gore, eschewing them in favor of hints of incest,
transsexuality, and homoeroticism, creating a far more disturbing
atmosphere. Its sequels, however, are a different story. They are,
in fact, somewhat standard 1980s fare and as such offer up lots of
gratuitous nudity, bad haircuts, worse dialog, and a number of
celebrity siblings in starring roles (Pamela Springsteen, Renee
Estevez) that help make them entertaining in their own right.
